I’m excellent at overestimating things. How long it will take me to walk somewhere, how much things cost, how long it will take me to program something, and especially how much food to buy. For yesterday’s blog post, I bought a few lemons to take my picture. By a few I mean like six. Since I had nothing else to use them for, I figured lemonade was an easy option. Plus, I associate lemonade with the summer, so it helps me escape that fact that the temperature outside is quickly approaching absolute zero.
What you need:
1 cup of sugar
4 cups of water
1 cup of lemon juice (4-5 lemons)
Begin by heating 1 cup of water with 1 cup of sugar in a small pot over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved to make simplesyrup. Once sugar is dissolved, remove pot from heat. Squeeze 1 cup of juice from the lemons. In a pitcher, mix 3 cups of cold water with the simple syrup and lemon juice. If it is too tart, add more water as desired. Garnish with some lemon slices and chill in the fridge.
